1) – The site must be located in or at the perimeter of a provincial town/urban centre.

2) – Public transport must be available to and from the campsite.

3) – There must be lockable storage for luggage.

4) – There must be a facility for supplying/selling town maps, bus and train timetables, etc.

5) – As a minimum requirement, there must be posters displaying the opening hours of shops, banks, museums, etc.

6) – There must be good provision for late arrivals or early departures, possibly in a separate area that could also be used as a "autocaravan site”.

7) – Cycle hire/provision for cycle hire.

8) – Information on provision of town walks, sightseeing tours, visits to museums, etc.

9) – Provision/reservation of concert, theatre, cinema tickets, etc.
